I mean... It was fine... I read this for a Buddy Read, and prior to that, I'd been in a pretty severe reading slump and hadn't read any book in a few weeks. So this being the very first book for me to read when it's one that's definitely NOT in my preferred reading genres was bound to be rough.

I don't think I can tell you too many details about what happened, other than the fact that there were a lot of fake outs and red herrings. most of them I saw coming, but there was one or two that I didn't, so that was nice.

I thought this was an interesting book. Loved all the food elements to it, and I am so intrigued by the sound of halo-halo, I kind of want to try it.

I was pretty invested in the story, I had hunches about whodunnit, and I was on the right track... At one point though, I was trying to figure out why something seemed so familiar, and it's because in the Joanne Fluke book series, the MC also had two guys vying for her attention (who both happened to be a detective an a dentist, I think) so that, for some reason, was throwing me off......

This was a little bit predictable, but that's probably because I've been watching shows like Diagnosis Murder since I was itty bitty so I'm good at guessing things.

I get so stressed out by cozy mystery books, but I still randomly pick them up to give them a try. Things were just as outrageous in this book as they were in book 1, and there were times that I was laughing so hard, because of the ridiculous-ness of it all. I love the relationship that Meddy has with her family. Yes they drive her crazy sometimes, and are a little bit extra. But at the end of the day, they always have each other's back and will do anything to defend each other.

And also, Nathan is literally the sweetest most understanding person in the whole wide world and deserves all the happy things that there ever could be.
