ARC Review: The Twice-Scorned Lady Of Shadow ~ Annette Marie

Format I Used: Digital ARC
Pages: 272
My Rating: 5 Stars
Publication Date: May 6, 2022

Not so sure how much sense this review is going to make because my brain still feels like it exploded. There's so much I want to say, but I don't even know if I have the proper words to use to describe it all.

There was a lot that happened in this book. A LOT. And I'm super obsessed with literally everything about it. We got to learn even more about Zak and (I want to write Tori even though I KNOW that's not right lol) SABER'S history and what really happened. They finally got past all the senseless blaming for things that were out of their control and worked out the majority of the miscommunication issues that were causing them to hate each other.

This one was even grittier than the others (which were already pretty gritty) but it works, because it fits the characters SO well.

Saber finally got an official introduction to The Crow & Hammer, and I was wishing there was a bit more from that aspect, but I'm hoping that there will be more interaction in the next book.

The ending. THE ENDING!

While I'm not exactly surprised at what happened at the ending (because I've been very suspicious of Lallakai from the very beginning when TORI was expressing her concern about how sus Lallakai was... But I wasn't expecting that specific kind of betrayal. I think my brain exploded.

I'm also real concerned that something bad is going to happen to Rikr... and if that does happen I will cry oceans and oceans of tears, because I've grown rather fond of The Winter King. I'm just... so worried right now, especially with the way things have been going. Although Annette Marie hasn't hurt me too terribly in any of her previous books, so maybe that's a good sign?

I guess I'll have to wait until September to see...

Yikes.

Thank you so much to Annette Marie and Dark Owl Fantasy for allowing me to read an ARC

Did It Make Me Cry? No, but I came reeeeally close a time or two.

Annette Marie is one of my absolute favorite, auto buy authors. I've yet to read a book of hers that I dislike. Also, I need to confess that I have been/am in somewhat of a reading slump. I can't seem to stay focused when reading a book. The last several books I've finished have been audio books. But let me tell you what! I absolutely DEVOURED this book. It was an amazing feeling.

I wished that Robin had been a little more... tough? and stood up for herself more, but I can tell that she's only going to grow and be more awesome as the series progresses. I loved that she loves to bake, and the fact that she stood up to scary old Zylas instead of running away scared (go figure)

And Zylas. Oh boy, ZYLAS.

He reminded me a bit of Inuyasha, which if you know me, is a HUGE plus. I can't wait to see more of his character development, because I know that's going to be AMAZING.

I also enjoyed the crossover scenes with the characters from the Guild Codex series, it made me SO happy.

Although I will admit that I am a little worried about something. But I will refrain from mentioning what exactly until later on in the series, because I don't want to maybe spoil anything.

Thank you thank you T H A N K Y O U to Annette Marie and Dark Owl Fantasy Inc. For allowing me to read an ARC of this title

Seduction Release Day Blitz for Jaymin Eve and Jane Washington

IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HEEEEERE!!

Oh my holy hotcakes everyone.... Today is THE DAY. The long-awaited, much anticipated, I've probably talked my best friend's ear off because of it RELEASE DAY!!!!!!!!

I am beyond excited. I love my Reverse Harem books, I don't know exactly why (no it's not because of the smutty things that can happen, thank you very much. My first real Reverse Harem was Ouran Highschool Host Club, thank you very much... oops, getting off topic sorry)

I happened across the first book in the series by chance, and I absolutely loved it!  Then the second one came out almost right after (not really, but you know it felt like it.) Then the wait for Seduction has about killed me and my best friend who I managed to convince she needed to read it, and now she's as obsessed as I am (ha ha!)

But really I am so glad that this book is finally available, and that I am able to read it.

I am writing this post the day before it releases, but I can guarantee you that as soon as my preorder is available to read, I'll be up reading it. So I'll probably be a little slap happy at work.

Any ways.... Here is all the lovely information that you need to know to be able to get this book for yourself, plus the back of the book blurb, plus the teasers that are available... *SIGH*

Luckily, she has the Abcurse brothers to help her out—until she doesn’t, and suddenly she’s alone again in a world on the brink of chaos. With the Abcurses gone, she’ll have to rely on her wits, and her sister Emmy, to stay under the radar and survive.
Because someone wants her dead.

Living on the beautiful Gold Coast in Australia, the family loves spending lots of time on the beach. And traveling as frequently as possible.
When Jaymin isn’t trying to wrangle two daughters, a puppy and her husband, you will find her hiding in a corner trying desperately to write her stories (without little fingers pressing random keys). She asks for forgiveness if you notice the occasional sskkkkssis appearing in her book, her children are proud of their contribution.
She’d love it if you contacted her, giving feedback or just to have a chat.

Jane Washington:
Jane Washington is a 'Literary Awards off the Internet' bestselling author and ‘self-awarded’ award-winner with a professional capacity to take herself seriously and a steely determination to seduce the entire book world… or at least to have someone walk up to her in Kmart and tell her that they loved one of her books--even if they're mistaking it for another book. She holds herself responsible for the Beatrice Harrow young adult series, and the Seraph Black slightly-older-young-adult series.
If you want to know more about her, you’d better hire a private investigator because she’s proven to be a terrible online communicator. On the other hand, if you’re one of those people that gets off on terrible online communication, you can contact her at inquiries@janewashington.com.
That sounded wrong.
Is it too late to take that back?
