*3.5

A nice little palate cleansing RomCom.

There were several things that were so funny and relatable, and it was really just hilariously cute. Annie going down a Tik Tok Rabbit Hole when she should be getting things done, Liam letting loose in the car and singing along to One Direction, plus a whole bunch of other stuff that I'm forgetting to add here.

If you're looking for a relatable, funny, Grumpy x Sunshine, ONE BED TROPE kind of book then this is the one for you! Also, there's no big miscommunication fight, so that's also a plus!

I think that my biggest issue with Friends to Lovers books is the fact that they are just full to the brim with non-communication issues. Like, it's full of  I love this person who is my bestfriend, but can't tell them because it might ruin our relationship/they keep dating other people/they def don't like me the way I like them. When it's clearly obvious to everyone that they do in fact belong together, and people keep telling them that but they keep denying it.

It drives me mad.

There were things in this book that I enjoyed. The friendship between Lex and Trevor for one. I loved their interactions. I liked that it was told from dual perspectives because it made me feel a little more invested in the story... And I also really liked the fact that there was not a big fight/misunderstanding that drove them apart.

Overall I enjoyed this one. I love how the storytelling made me feel, and how magical it all was. And the covers (all of them) are just... *chefs kiss* I enjoyed getting to see Shiori figure things out and figure out who she was and the relationships that she had with her brothers were so amazing and I'm a little jealous if I'm being quite honest.

Takkan was still one of the most precious cinnamon rolls in the whole wide world and I love how he endeared himself to her family.

There were some things that happened in this book that felt a little disjointed to me and didn't flow quite as nice as I thought they should. And I do wish we would have gotten something... more? I don't know... with Seryu. I just felt like that was left kind of undone?

Did It Make Me Cry? No
